Extra Blog October

Today I am going to be posting up a few pictures with the different camera angles that are being used. Happy Halloween!(:

Extreme long shot: Contains a large amount of landscape. It is often used at the beginning of a scene or a film to establish general location

Mid Shot: Contains the characters or a character from the waist up. From this shot, viewers can see the characters faces more clearly as well as their interaction with other characters.

Close-up: Contains just one character's face. This enables viewers to understand the actor's emotions and also allows them to feel empathy for the character

Blog 8 - Research and Working EQ

1.  What is your working EQ?
  • When working in the field of television production how can camera techniques influence the viewer?

2.  What is a possible answer to your working EQ?
  • Camera techniques can influence the viewers point of view for a certain character.
3.  What is the most important source you have used that has helped you come up with an answer to your working EQ?
  • The most important source that I have used as of now is an article by Mindy Peterman called  "The Art of TV Editing: A Conversation with Nancy Forner.
4.  Who is your mentor, or where are you doing mentorship, and how does what you are doing relate to your working EQ?
  • My mentors name is Edgar and he does the television programming. The place that he works at is a small television/radio station. What I'm doing relates to my working EQ because they allow me to work the cameras during a production as well as let me help out with sets.

Blog 7: Independent Component Approval

To get your idea approved now, please answer the following questions:
1.  Describe in detail what you plan to do for your 30 hours.
  • For my independent component I plan on doing an extra 30 hours of mentorship along with helping out at different events that occur at my mentorship location during the month of November. Some of the events include a entire week of fundraising for the television station, also 1 day events at the convention center and sports arena.
2.  Discuss how or what you will do to meet the expectation of showing 30 hours of evidence.
  • I plan on showing that I did 30 hours by documenting everything by taking pictures, and saving work that I do at my mentorship.
3.  And explain how what you will be doing will help you explore your topic in more depth.
  • What I will be doing will help me explore my topic more in depth because I will be getting hands on experience to what occurs during the television production process. By hands on experience I mean that I will be helping record some shows as well.

4.  Update your Senior Project Hours log.
